general: I am a PhD student in the Computer Science department at UCSB. My advisor is Professor Linda Petzold, and I am a member of the Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) research lab. I am interested in all things machine learning and statistics related. Currently I am applying machine learning techniques to help physicians better understand coagulopathy and how to treat trauma patients.
research interests: I am interested in applying data analysis and machine learning models to help improve health care. More specifically, I hope to use modeling to help physicians make the best decisions on how to treat patients using the limited and noisy information they have. I am currently working on building models using clinical data to understand and treat trauma, the leading cause of death in the United States for people under the age of 46. Probabilistic graphical models and Bayesian models in general are some of my favorite tools to work with.
general interests: In my free time I enjoy cooking, watching movies, following NBA basketball, and discussing political policy and global events.
